3 Key Findings From 2012 Medicare Payment Changes
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its first monitoring report on the impact of the payment changes implemented Oct. 1, 2011.
The 3 key findings from the report are:
- Substantially fewer than expected COT OMRAs have been filed, indicating that planned therapies are reported as being consistently provided as planned.
- Virtually no decrease in the percent of high rehab cases.
- A decrease in the allocation of group therapy from 8% to 0% (99% of therapy is now provided individually).
We are working with CMS to further mutual understanding of these data.
