3 Key Findings From 2012 Medicare Payment Changes

by Published On: Jan 27, 2012

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its first monitoring report on the impact of the payment changes implemented Oct. 1, 2011.

The 3 key findings from the report are:

  • Substantially fewer than expected COT OMRAs have been filed, indicating that planned therapies are reported as being consistently provided as planned.
  • Virtually no decrease in the percent of high rehab cases.
  • A decrease in the allocation of group therapy from 8% to 0% (99% of therapy is now provided individually).

We are working with CMS to further mutual understanding of these data.
