Bon Secours New York Health System, Schervier Nursing Care Center, located in the Riverdale section of The Bronx, participated in LeadingAge New York's annual Advocacy Day in Albany, NY, on February 5.

As a member of LeadingAge New York, several of Schervier's employees met with state lawmakers and leaders in an effort to educate them on the needs and best interest of New York's elderly, disabled populations and their caregivers as well, and to encourage them to be vigilant of how government can play a role in caring for New York's most vulnerable populations.

LeadingAge New York's Advocacy Day is held annually following the release of executive budget proposals. With the budget slated to be finalize on March 21, LeadingAge New York's members will continue advocating for the protection of fellow care providers and seniors from additional budget cuts to the services that they rely on and need.
